Mark Rainey

Strategic Lead- Neighbourhoods

Manchester City Council 

Mark is responsible for bringing together Public Services, the Private Sector, Voluntary & Community Sector, residents and Politicians, across South Manchester to improve those neighbourhoods and the quality of life of all residents living within them. Over the past 3 years, Mark has worked closely with City Council teams, the University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University, Student Unions, Manchester Student Homes and Greater Manchester Police, to proactively integrate students into life in Manchester. He now chairs the Manchester Student Strategy Partnership that brings all those key partners together to deliver plans all year round and test new ways of working. He is also a graduate himself and through the City Council, he is currently completing an MSc in Public Sector Leadership & Management with the University of Birmingham
