Gav began his career with Manchester City Council in 1999 gaining experience in various roles in parks, leisure & events, regeneration, youth inclusion and now neighbourhoods. Currently working as a Neighbourhood Manager and chairing the Housing & Environmental Partnership, his main focus is managing waste and recycling across the communities and neighbourhoods of South and Central Manchester. Alongside coordinating services to improve and deliver services to Manchester residents, he is responsible for ward coordination working with Elected Members.

With a keen interest for volunteering Gav is also the Chair of Trustees for a South Manchester based charity called Norbrook Youth Club. His passion for working and mentoring young people began in 2008 and he has successfully led a team of volunteers to transform a youth facility into a vibrant sustainable asset.

Representing the ‘town’ side to the UKTGA he is keen to raise the profile and increase membership from other local authorities across the UK.
