Claire Bent

Claire is a highly experienced Community Development practitioner, and has worked in various community development and peace-making contexts in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as well as Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Malawi, Moldova, Romania, Iraq. Claire’s MA thesis was on non-violent radical peace-making in community contexts and so she is well equipped to approach Town/Gown work from both an academic and practitioner perspective. Claire has extensive experience in convening groups of practitioners and peers in order to facilitate learning and exploration, as well as in conference and event organisation and hosting. Claire is a guest lecturer in Social Work within the University of Birmingham, focussing on Community Eco Systems, and has previously been a Youth Community Work tutor for degree level students at CYM in Oxford.
