Mandy Marlow

Mandy joined Durham University as a Research Fellow, then Lecturer, in the Department of Anthropology. Durham is a collegiate university and in 2005 Mandy became Vice-Principal of Stephenson College with responsibility for student support, development and discipline. In 2012 she was appointed Assistant Head of Colleges (Student Experience) and in 2018 Head of Student Wellbeing and Community Engagement. Her current post manages three key areas of activity: student health and wellbeing; faith support; and community liaison. Mandy and her team network across the University, with the Students’ Union, and with external stakeholders including the Police, Local Authority, medical practices, PBSAs, and local residents associations. Her work has included alcohol education and the development of a peer intervention programme for students through collaboration with the County Durham Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service. Mandy shares UKTGA issues across her region through groups such as the North East Universities’ Health and Wellbeing Network.
