The phenomenon of studentification, where the influx of student populations significantly impacts local communities, presents both opportunities and challenges for towns and cities across the UK and beyond.

The “Studentification and Town and Gown Relations” training course is designed to provide professionals with a comprehensive understanding of these dynamics, offering practical strategies to foster harmonious coexistence between students, educational institutions, and permanent residents and addressing the operational impact of universities on their host communities.

This course is ideal for professionals working on town and gown issues in HE, students’ unions, local government and public sector and student housing.

The course employs a mix of case study analyses, group discussions, workshops, and practical exercises. Participants will engage with guest speakers from academia, government, and community organizations, ensuring a well-rounded perspective on the issues at hand.

This training course aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to navigate the complexities of studentification and town and gown relations, fostering positive and sustainable interactions between all stakeholders involved.

This course will be led by a diverse group of practitioners with extensive experience in town-gown relations. LINK Strategic Partners, a global social impact communications firm with offices across the USA and  UK, will be sharing proven models that have successfully bridged the gap between universities and their surrounding communities. The course content is tailored to address the specific challenges faced by off-campus communities, as identified by delegates. By focusing on real-world issues, this course will equip you with practical strategies and a comprehensive toolkit to effectively address the unique needs of your community.

Join us for this intensive and interactive training course to develop the knowledge and tools necessary for creating harmonious and vibrant communities that benefit both students and local communities.
